Dr. Terry Gomez is a dedicated clinician focused on empowering families and mental health professionals. With a PhD in Infant & Early Childhood Development, specializing in Mental Health & Developmental Disorders, and a graduate certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis, she provides comprehensive support to families in need. She also holds a New York State license as a mental health counselor. With over fifteen years of experience in roles like preschool teacher, child counselor, behavior interventionist, and social worker assistant, Dr. Gomez deeply understands the needs of families and children. Her work aims to guide parents, support providers, and promote healthy child-adult relationships. Her dissertation, "Interactions on Silent Mode: Parental Smartphone Distractions and the Influence on Infant Mental Health," highlights the importance of parent-child relationships. She also explores disruptive behaviors in children and the developmental impact of trauma and neglect. Dr. Gomez has served as a mental health consultant for Early Head Start and a perinatal mental health consultant in New York City hospitals, contributing to pilot programs in mental health.
